Marc R. Lebed, MD, MDR

Marc R. Lebed, MD, MDR is the co-founder and co-director, of Medical Dispute Professionals (MDP), an association of physician and attorney mediation/arbitration teams dedicated to the non-adversarial resolution of healthcare conflicts, and consensus building processes.

MDP provides educational programs in conflict prevention/management, communication skills, and interview & counseling. Dr. Lebed, through MDP, also concentrates on healthcare distribution issues, the development of integrated institutional problem solving, patient safety programs and mediation/arbitration of healthcare disputes.

Dr. Lebed is an obstetrician/gynecologist with a sub-specialty in maternal-fetal medicine and has a Masters Degree in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Law School. He is actively studying law in preparation for taking the California Bar Examination.

Dr. Lebed is a past assistant professor of Ob-Gyn at the University of Southern California. He practiced in Pasadena for many years at the Huntington Memorial Medical Center, where he developed the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division, directed the Ob-Gyn residency program, was a member of the Ob/Gyn Policy and Procedures Committee, and was a long time Chair of the Ob/Gyn Quality Management Committee.

Dr. Lebed is a guest consultant for the Project Safe Care & Professional Negligence Committees for the California Medical Association, as well as the co-creator of a remedial educational program for the Disruptive Physician. Dr. Lebed, along with MDP co-director, Jay McCauley, are developing a core curriculum on Communication Skills and Dispute Prevention/Management for UC Davis and UCLA Medical Schools.

Dr. Lebed is dedicated to improving healthcare distribution through conflict reduction, collaborative medical team building and problem solving, and healthcare systems integration & education.
